Vision problems and muscle troubles please help??

Tue, 08/11/2015 - 21:34

Okay. So I'm sixteen, and I was diagnosed with JME(juvenile myoclonic epilepsy) in June but I've had five seizures since 2011.

I started having muscle jerks when I was thirteen, and they have steadily grown worse to the point where I have serious trouble even writing. Running, dancing, even zipping up my friggin jeans I get them. I also fell down the stairs and probably will again if I go any faster than a walk. I know that jerks are normal for JME, but like this seems really extreme. I've seen multiple doctors, we've tried different meds, it's still the same.

Second problem. My vision is, well, weird. Like everything flickers around the edges. I'm not talking like the occasional glare of sun, no, like literally everything in my vision flickers. It's like a glitch, almost, and it makes it hard to see. It's not occasional or sometimes, it's constant. It doesn't ever stop. I have a lot of trouble reading, and I'm a musician. Trying to decipher flickering notes on a page ain't gonna work. I have a lot of trouble when I wake up to and my eyes try to adjust to the light. If I close them again after I've woken, it's like strobe lights go off behind my eyelids and I almost have a seizure. Again, this just seems really extreme for my condition.

These problems started three years ago ish. But in the last year they have steadily progressed to the point where I literally don't know what to do.

I am on depakote 750 mg daily, lamotrigine 100 mg daily, and folic acid 100 mg daily.

Please help me.
