I don't like it at all. I mean some weight loss is kinda cool. But I feel like I can't sleep. Sometimes my head hurts. And my memory is shot. Honestly I can't remember anything at all.
But my mom says I should just deal. And I want to believe her. See, my last medication, I forgot its name (heh) it was a nightmare and Topamax is a dream compared to it.
So what if I ask for a differant medication and its not as good as Topamax? But Topamax is only good because it was better than my last medication. Uhh help please?

HI i just started taking topamax for the second time around and the first time sucked!! and i couldn't sleep or focus. and ilost a bunch of weight. and it made me kinda dumb nd slow.
So i started taking it again for the second time around and its going good so far. so idk, maybe cuz its a low dose, but were monitoring it, cuz topamax is very strong.

Well I can't remember much about Topamax because it was a long time ago. I remember losing a lot of weight and having a great metabolism. Since I was taking it my sophomore year of high school and now I'm 22yrs old, it's been awhile. But I think you are right about the memory. I was on the basketball team and couldn't remember the plays. Sure I could get down the court before everyone else but I couldn't tell you what play we were running.
You mom is telling you to deal because Topamax is probably controlling your seizures better than the last and that's all that matters. Honestly I'd deal with the side effects for now if it is improving your seizure control. But that's just my opinion. Best of luck!

I just started taking Topamax and I don't like it either, but I was allergic to the last two medications. My speech is slow. My brain is slow. I was sleepy for the first two weeks and now I can't sleep. My doctor doesn't want to switch my medication because I have reactions to everything. I get these headaches. I get really bad deja vu. I don't know what to tell you...
