Hi I'm Kandace anyways I'm currently on Oxytellar but I used to take Trileptol (I'm not sure if I spelled it right) but I officially was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was in 3rd or 5th grade I believe. I wanted to know if maybe a side effect from the medication or something causes depression and suicidal thoughts or if thats a whole another issue. I want to tell my neurologist about it but I don't want my mom to worry or get scared. I just don't want people to worry but I want to know if it could be related. Has anyone else struggled with these feelings? Please let me know and thank you.

Yes contact your neurologist and discuss this issue with him.. I have been in drug studies and with many we have to make a call to an office and the questions are asked about your issue.  Many of the medication can cause those thoughs. Not all of them were AED's As for your spelling I am far older then you and I know my spelling sucks. People will either take me as I am or they can leave me along it is their choice. I do hope this helps Joe

There are a lot of medications that have suicidal thoughts and many are AED's I have been in drug studies and in several I have had to call and answer questions and in most of those one of the questions is suicidal thoughts. If you have those thoughts then please contact your neurologist. He may need to change your medication. As for your spelling... Mine sucks but at least people can see what I am talking about and understand what I am trying to get across.
