Pen Pals for Kids with parents who have epilepsy

Fri, 05/27/2011 - 18:30
My 10 year old son has been living with my partials since he was born.  Is there any type of pen pal system that kids can use to discuss how epilpesy affects them ( in regards to their parent)  He has no siblings. So if any of you have any ideas or insigts please let me know.

I know there are some wonderful one-week epilepsy summer camps across the country where kids often meet other kids with epilepsy for the first time. It's a real revelation for them, and often they return to camp, year after year, and form lasting bonds that continue way after camp is over. My daughter is getting ready to turn 9 and like yourself has no siblings. she really doesn't understand at this point what she has. Right now I just go to local meetings and she is not to involved with them. But I think it's time. What part of the country are u from? I live in the Cincinnati area.
