Memory loss affecting studies

Tue, 10/04/2016 - 13:24
My 18 yr old daughter is having what we believe to be epilepsy-related memory problems, being unable to recall the information she has revised for her GCSE's. She was expected to acheive A* in her science GCSE, scored 'off the chart's with final tutor marked assignments - and then failed the exam completely because she couldn't recall the facts required - which she knew 100% a week before the exam. Does anyone have any similar experience with memory disorder and know of any revision system or memory devices that might help her. Diagnosed at 13yrs old. She had (drug-resistant) tonic-clonic epilepsy for 3.5 years before finally being placed on 500mg Depakine and 100mg Lamicatal twice per day. She's now been seizure free for almost 2 years. She also had a benign brain tumour removed 18 months ago but disappointingly, it was not apparently connected to her epilepsy :-(
