I would like to have other people to talk to that are like me

I am about to be 9 and I have epilepsy.  I was diagnosed with it about 5 months ago, I have only had a few seizures once I got on the medicine.  I am afraid that I am going to have to stop gymnastics because of the heat, I get worried that I am going to have a seizure in the gym.  Does the heat affect all people with epilepsy? when I got home I was very sad,  when I'm in the gym my face starts to get hot first then I get a little dizzy by the end of practice that lasts two hours. thanks for any advice

Hi, I'm Jordan.I'm a girl. I have to use my dad's name thing here since i'm not 18. I had epilepsy since I was 7 or 8 years old. I'm now 13. And I think heat does affect a little but not that much.

My daughter is going to 9 in September and would love to talk to you. She has had seizures since she was 4. She does not have a computer yet, so if u would like to talk to her I can give u my email address to communicate with her, she would love it! She does not know anyone that has seizures, and not sure whe one is coming on. The heat effects her and sports are hard for her to do. But we r changing meeds so we hope that helps.

hi, since you are only 9, there are good chances that you'll get rid of seizures within some years. same happened with my friend. he had had a few grand mals when he was around 10, n now, at 28, he's been seizure free from 15 years. you should do as your neuro tells you to. i think you'll be able to keep up your hobby; like Chanda Gunn, the famous Olympian with epilepsy, did. take care...
