OMG   I didn't see a neurologist until I was 14..  The neurologist will ask you some questions. Answer them to the best of your ability. If he does tests one of the main tests will be an EEG (electroencepholograp} it takes about 30 minutes. They will have yo urelax in areas. They have you close your eyes while they run a light test. They have an area where you breath heavily. Several other things. What is happening while you are doing that is the machine is gathering the electrical impulses comming from your brain.  They read it carefully. With many tests they come back normal. In other words just liek everybody elses. At times there are spikes in areas. Those spikes may be spiking when they areant. In other words spiking abnormally. If that happens they know where in the brain the abnormality came from. The simple way to say what a seizure is "A seizure is a electriical impulse going off wrong in the brain. Causing a chain eraction."  Plan simple explanation. The neurologist will talk mainly to your mother. The neurologist never answered my question which was "What is Epilepsy". I went thru testing and never got the answer. So I knew I had an essy I coud write on anything in english class. OH and understand that back then there were no home computers. Libraries were places to go to research and gather information. So if the neurologist doesn't answer your questions by all means come in here and someone will try and answer your questionsJoe
