Granddaughter's Long Seizures

Tue, 06/30/2015 - 11:26

Hello, This is new to me, I'm going to throw out these questions.  My granddaughter is 1 year old, she had her first seziure at 5 months old, she has had at least 12 since then.  The average time of all her seziures are 45 mins to 1 1/2 hours.  All her test are good, except a "little spark on left side of brain.  She is on Keppra and Trleptal. Has anyone experienced these lenghts of seizures, Also they seem to come every 4 weeks. Thank you in advanced for any advice.

Is it one really long one or multiple ones back to back? Mine tend to be short but they are "clusters" of seizures. People tend to freak out when this happens. Also maybe they should look at changing her medications if they don't seem to be helping? She's so little you're going to have to be her advocate- stay strong and God bless!
