Calm before the storm?

Mon, 02/05/2007 - 22:12
My son was just officially diagnosed with CAE last week. He was having at least 9 seizures at home, don't know how many at school, a day. Now since Saturday he has stopped them at home, if he does have them I can't tell. No rolling of the eyes, no chewing motion. My question is for those who have experience with this type...is this just the calm before the storm, or am I wishing before my chickens are hatched that this all just going away? Thanks for any wisdom and advice...Tia

Hi Tia, My Name is Autumn Excell, I'm turning 19 in september, I live in Panguitch Utah. I have suffered from epileptic seizures since I was a 19 months old baby. I have Grand-Mal and Complex-Partial seizures. What is CAE? The reason I ask is because it kinda sounds like my complex-partial seizures. You are jumpng the gun by wishing that it will go away. My mom did the exact same thing and I have had them when I hit 11 yrs old. What is your son's name and his age? Don't give up on him encourage him to live a normal life with the trial of seizures. I have and it has made my life easier on me and my family. I'm quite normal until ppl find out. Once they do they try to treat me different until I tell them that I'm not different I'm just HIGHLY CHALLENGED in my life. I have done a club in my HS called FCCLA and last year I focused my project on Epileptic awarness. My judges were shocked to find that I had seizures because of the way I presented myself. Any questions contact me here or at my e-mail autumnrexcell_epilepsylife@yahoo.com (;Autumn;)
