YOUNG ADULT NEEDS ANSWERS
Fri, 01/20/2006 - 20:57HI MY NAME IS TYANNA I AM 22 WITH 2 CHILDREN. I AM NEW TO THIS WEBSITE BUT I NEED HELP. I TAKE 500MG DEPAKOTE 5 PILLS A DAY AND AM SUPPOSE TO TAKE LAMICTAL AS IT GIVES ME BAD SIDE EFFECTS. I HAVE JUVENILE SEIZURES I HAVE BEEN HAVING THEM SINCE I CAN LAST REMEMBER BUT NOONE ACTUALLY SAW ME UNTIL I WAS 14 MY MOM WOULD GO OUT GROCERY SHOPPING OR SOMETHING AND COME HOME AND I WOULD BE PASSED OUT IN BATHROOM FLOOR WHICH SHE CLAIMED SHE HAD NO IDEA. I WAS TO YOUNG AND HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS HAPPENENING AND WAS SCARED TO DEATH OF MOM. WELL ANYHOW.....IS DEPOKOTE NAME BRAND OR IS THERE A GENERIC PILL FOR DEPAKOTE???????? WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRAND MAL AND JUVENILE I HAVE JUVENILE BUT WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I HAD GRAND MAL I HAVE NO INSURANCE AND AM TRYING TO GET DISABILITY WHAT ARE MY CHANCES WITH DISABILITY?????? INSURANCE COMPANYS WON'T TAKE ME BECAUSE OF EPILEPSY....AND I AM RUNNING OUT OF MEDS I CAN'T WORK AS I AM UNSTABLE RIGHT NOW. SEIZURES HAVE BEEN BAD LATELY. I AM YOUNG AND NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM AFFRAID I AM GOING TO DIE....OR SERIOUSLY INJURED. I AM SCARED TO LEAVE HOUSE. I AM ALWAYS DEPRESSED WHY? IS IT MY MEDS?? OR JUST THE FACT THAT I KNOW I HAVE A DESEASE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE THANK YOU

hi,
first welcome to the site. I am going threw the same thing is a way. I have no job, and the meds i am taking could end any day now because i cannot get my disability from social secruiety. I have tried so many times to get it by myself. If you feel you can not work get a lawyer or somebody who has knowledge in getting people there disability and you will probably get it. Make sure you tell him the problem. You are not going to die. If you think your meds are going to run out go to the hospital and i am quiet sure they will help you out. Do not worry. Every thing will be fine. A question, if you want to meet others dont you think you should come on the chat line, get to know people, and certain people you want to be your frineds to chat with during your ordeal to give them your e mail address so that you can have a person to talk to. That is why we are all here. For one another. Get into the chat room, look me up when ever you see my name ( dannyboy ) and when you see it just say hi to me and i will rap with you in private. Since you do not want to give your email address out in the open. Which i agree 100 percent. Remember, every thing will be allright. Do not worry to much, will bring on a seizure. Take it one day at a time. Do not forget the chat room. love ya.

Hi Tyanna, I am so sorry you have had to deal with this for so long, and with little success. you might take a look at the following sites: This one is on seizure types, might help explain what type you are experiencing (by the way, the term Gran Mal is an older term, usually referred to as a Generalized Seizure today). http://www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/types_seizures.html This link will give you a list of sites that offer free or reduced prescription drugs to qualified individuals: http://www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/drugassist_links.html I hope these help you out. Depression can be a result of dealing with the disorder, or can actually be caused by the disorder. It can also be a side effect of your medications. Please keep in touch. You will find a lot of helpful folks here who can give you some advice, and will always offer emotional support.
