Yet another 'is it a seizure' thread.

Fri, 11/10/2006 - 13:22
I know the only way I can find this out for sure is to have one while having an EEG. It starts with the feeling that I'm going to sneeze. It creeps up the back of my head. Then my whole head jerks to the side. It's like the motion of a sneeze without the sneeze part. I cannot control it, and the harder I TRY to control it, the more violent the 'brain-sneeze' is when it comes. Sometimes, though, it just subsides, and then catches me way off guard. It is, in nearly every respect, precisely like a sneeze, except it excludes my nose from the equation. There is no particular trigger that I can identify. Nothing in particular seems to make a 'brain-sneeze' more or less likely. I cannot control it, calm it, stop it, or make it happen (whereas, I can trigger a real sneeze by looking at light or pinching the hair under my nose). To date, I have not recorded these instances in my seizure journal. However, they are becoming more frequent and I have several a day every single day. From the experience of others, does this resemble anything familiar to you?
