What are recommended dosages for Keppra and Lamictal
Thu, 04/09/2015 - 13:53~~I recently had myoclonic seizures all day on Saturaday and ended up with a grandma that evening. I was taking 225 mg x 2 day of lamictal and 1,250 mg Keppra night and 1000 mg morning.
~~I am now taking 3000 mg of Keppra a day and 450 mg Lamictal a day. What are symptoms I might experience if I get toxic on either of them> My Vit. D levels were also very low.

DJ welcome to the clubLet me put it this way. Each persons seizure is diferent to other peoples seizures. They may be the same type of seizure but it is different. Add medications to that and each medication and dosage is also diferent. The medications you posted and nothing like aspirin where one size fits all and they last a certain time period. Seizure medications take time for your body to get used to. That that time period the medication is building up th theraputic levels in your body. I am having a problem with the dosages you posted since I have been using keppra for over 10 years. The person yo need to ask this question to is your neurologist. Since he probably knows them. I have only been toxic on 1 seizure medication in the 50+ years I have been taking meds.The first time I was wacky after starting dilantin.The doctor had me stop taking it. @ weeks later I was put ack on it and I used it for 30+ years. I had problems with my dilantin.After taking it about an hour later I would be losing my equalibrum. The nearest doctros had no idea what was wrong. I thought back and had come up with nothing for weeks. Then I remembered the 3 days I went wacky on the first dosage of dilantin. Well an appt was set up at the university in Lubbock and I was right I was toxic on dilantin. In other words neurologist would know the symptoms but most people will not know.I hope this helps Joe
