Were you fine and then get suddenly worse?

I'm just wondering if anyone else had went through treatment for their epilepsy, done well for awhile and then all of a sudden had them get worse without warning? Did you ever find out what triggered them to get worse?

I had 3 nocturnal grand mal seizures(within 8 hrs) 6 years ago and was put on Keppra. Before the grand mals happened I had been having other types of seizures but didn't know it. The Keppra seemed to work well until I had 4 grand mals; like the first, this past July and then 2 more in Dec. My husband administered diastat so I wouldn't have any more than two. After all the folks I've talked to in chat it seems I am very lucky it's not worse. I know that in July and in Dec I ate spaghetti sauce that had peppers and onions besides the normal ingredients. Seems that and lack of sleep and some stress thrown in triggers it. My acupuncturist says to cool it on nightshade foods if I'm feeling weird; no concentrated tomato and such til I feel better. I have more auras than I used to but that isn't too bad. Take care

I don't think I would have ever connected food with seizures. Interesting.

I went 5 years and 10 months

I went 5 years and 10 months without a seizure... and then bam, grand mal in the middle of my job. My neurologist said the stress my job was causing me (and not just your average every day annoying coworkers, bad boss type of stress-- it was horrible) was the trigger. It was majorly depressing. I had one exactly a year later-- within the same week. Neuro said I psyched myself up so much I triggered another one.
