A weird one - seizures when concentrating

Thu, 08/03/2017 - 05:47
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and really hope you can help me as I'm at a complete loss to controlling my seizures. I was diagnosed in Feb and have had 8 Grand Mal seizures since the . The weird thing is that every single one has happened whilst I've been at work, speaking in a meeting or presenting. It must be something to do with focus and concentration but I can't find anything on the web about the. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, do you have any tips on how to manage it? I love my job and I don't want to change my life, but I'm really worried about how much this is impacting on my ability to work. Any advice would be amazing, thanks. Abbie

Hiya Abbie, I've had epilepsy since childhood,i had pettite mal and grand mal i was having approx 100 pettite mal  (day dreaming) episodes a day also roughly 2 grand mal seizure's a week sometime's at school   i missed so much of my education. Concentration and memory i find is very badly affected. My seizures tend to be brought on by tiredness and stress and maybe yours are too i would find myself having more seizure's when i had to do something that invovled a lot of pressure or a lot of focus on me i would forget a lot and stumble what i was suppose to be doing i don't know if yours is but it sound's very similar to mine

That is how mine are too..

That is how mine are too...they tend to happen while im doing repeative tasks or im over concentrating. If there are lots of conversatons going on all at once or noisy commotion i can often will " phase out" or go into autopilot mode. I was actually fired from work as a cashier yesterday as apperntly i cant give change correctly while in a spell. ( third time my drawer was short more than $ 20 in the past year)
