unusual EEG findings

Has anyone had unusual EEG results? Did you get strange spikes and waves throughout the test or just at certain times. If your doctor said your results were inconclusive what was the explanation given.

Let me ask this a better way. What is a positive EEG reading? Do these spikes have to be really high or have to happen in some type of pattern. Or can you just have unusual activity showing up on the test at any time.

My focus is slow in the area. My background is slow alpha to theta when I am awake, but that is normal for me. Most patients their background is alpha. When I have a partial seizure it is sharp and slow wave activity w/ a focus. When I have a partial complex seizure it is longer w/ more artifact and sometimes w/ some spike and wave activity and it has a focus, too. The 3 second spike and wave is generally a petit mal seizure and there is no focus, and is generalized. I could go on and on. The information in the my.epilepsy can give you the information.

I am wishing that my EEG's would show something. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2003, though I began going to a neuro in 99. I had an accident at work where something really heavy hit me square on the head. Caused and still causing daily headaches, weekly migraines, and breakthrough seizures now. I've only ever had the EEG that they do in the office until this last week when they gave me one that was 48 hours. Nothing special. No spikes, dips, shorts, or longs. My brain seems to flatline at the first hint of whatever glue they are using. Oh and I'm allergic to the gold electrodes! :P This Friday when I was told it was normal. It wasn't sure why I was having seizures, they need to do longer test or different tests. It could be that this test you had this time was just a good test. Something we all wish for unless we are looking for a pinpoint answer.
