Unsure if daughter is having seizures - leg numbness

Sun, 10/16/2016 - 21:29
Hi My 13 year old daughter has been having these weird episodes for almost a year now where her legs go numb, she goes dizzy and her eyes go black. She doesn't think she blacks out. They last for a few minutes and are happening normally a couple of times a week. They happen at any time, while shes doing sports, sitting down, but it does seem to be more when she's moving. Once we found her on the ground with no feeling at all in her legs which lasted a few minutes. Shes been seen by a paediatrician & they said it is quite unusual but said they could be seizures. We're just waiting for a EEG to be done at the moment. She's had a MRI as well. I'm just wondering if anyone else has suffered anything like this. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy myself just over 2 years ago and have suffered from mainly partial seizures, so have been asking her lots of questions about how she feels during and after it and she says she feels normal, and am making her keep a diary to try and see a pattern. Thanks

My son has been going threw this for about 3 years while going threw this my son tends to look like a stroke victim. His episodes were never with seizure until recently where his legs went completely numb and he fell and hit his head on a table and went into a full epileptic seizure. Prior to having a seizure the neurologist had no idea what it was once my son hit his head and started getting seizures with the episodes  he said siezures. Now my son not only losses feel in his legs he also goes completely paralyzed for a couple seconds on one side. His seizures have been very different everyone he has one it never looks like the one before and not Everytime he has an episode does he have a seizure. My son has had several mri's ekg's ambulatory eeg's with no diagnosis. Now we are told we have no idea what is going with him. As I write this my son is admitted again on another ambulatory eeg hoping for a miracle.
