Hi my boyfriend just had a really bad serizure back in February. doctors could not find a reason to why it happen but it was bad. They tired putting him on medicine but it made him feel sick a lot. Well I notice every night that he is doing a lot of twitching and jerking. I know a lot of people do but this is like extreme twitching . But he still responses to me. He has been acting very werid lately, he spaces out, gets frustrated real easily and looking pale.im 27 weeks pregnant and it's hard staying up all night bc I'm scared he's gonna go into another one. When I tell him about the twitching he gets mad and says everyone does it but What he is doing isn't normal. What can I do?

WelcomeSorry to hear your son has had a seizure.doctors could not find a reason to why it happen but it was bad.  Depending on the doctor weither or not things can be found. Was it his regular doctor or some in a ER?Did the doctors take him off the medicine he was prescribed? Many of the thnigs you posted could be seizures or parts of seizures. You noticed him doing a lot of twitching and jerking. Well those could be seizures. Acting wierd is something kids do. However spacing out mmm could be another type of seizure Absence seizures (petite mal) or focal seizures look like the person is day dreaming. In some the person doesn't respond . In hte other they may be delayed. Before I was diagnosed I was being written up in class for day dreaming. The teacher would ask me a question and Ihe thought i wasn't paying attention. He would go to another student but about the time the other student was to answer the question my answer came out. Those day dreams were seizures. What he is doing isn't normal. What can I do?   I too didn't think about some of my twitching since I thought they were from over worked muscles. What can be done. Call your GP and have an appointment set up with a neurologist that specializes in epilepsy. Discuss this with the neurologist. As for reasons to why he had that real bad seizure? There are many people in here that have gone thru tests and never found an answer. For me I went thru 20-25 different EEG's (brain wave test) all came back normal. I had gone thru a seres of tests and the last one was another EEG in which I fell asleep. In that EEG they found abnormalities (seizure activity not a seizure itself) . So depending on timing and the length of the test and also exactly where in the brain the irregualr impulse is commng from. The EEG can only read to a certain depth in the brain. If the impulse is deeper then it will not be picked up.Also know that there are many different medications that can control or stop his seizures. It takes time to get the right medication and right dosage but it happens. There are some kids that can and do grow out of it. My cousin being one of them. I hope your son gets the assistance he needs Joe Please come back and let us know how things went
