traveling/flying alone with epilepsy

Sun, 05/14/2006 - 12:37
Does anyone have experience flying alone with epilepsy? I'm going to go to Morocco in August. I'll be meeting my husband there. I have to take two flights to end up in Casablanca. If I have a seizure I don't want them to stop the plane, call the paramedics, in short, be alarmed. I just need advil, water and someone to help me whether with an aura or post seizure. Anyone done this before? Nancy B. "Meskerkid"

I dont travel alone. But if you have to, talk with the pilot..and let them know exactly what you need if something happens. have a nice time Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/

I'll talke to the stewardesses. They'd be the ones most likely to be able to help. Can you imagine? The pilot has to put it on auto to help the girl in 6B. That'd go over well! thanks for responding. Nancy B.

I used to travel alone a alot. My advice to you is to get an aisle seat and to let the flight attentandt know that you have ep. Flying itself never caused me any problems. Just the time change and the jet lag. I know best advice is not to drink but I always had a couple of gin and tonics which also seemed to help. Good luck, you'll do fine.
