Topamax: I look like the walking dead

Tue, 02/28/2017 - 21:15
Topamax, after being on this med for epilepsy since 2012, has caused me to lose so much weight including all my muscle....I look like a skeleton...I used to have an athletic build. It has made my muscles atrophy. I was beautiful b4 this med now I look older, worn down. I have no fat in my face or neck. Im so pissed that I was not warned that this was a weight loss medication also. My legs swell everyday at work, they get water on them, go numb, I have little veins popping up under my leg skin....I'm only 34 and feel like a 50 yr old! I asked finally to be switched to Lamicatal again, the new Neuro at the practice said bc of my migraines he wanted me on Keppra instead, I said I'll try it. I took a 100mg tablet & was speeding for 2 days. That was just the morning dose, didnt even dare take the 200mg night dose. That's all I need, to not eat even more! It took fighting with this Neurologist for the past 3 weeks to finally put me back on Lamictal. Of course I have no taper instructions for the topamax, only instructions for Lamictal. If you live in Philly DONT, DONT EVER GO TO EINSTEIN NEUROLOGY. They r incompetent. Every time I go there, there is always an issue with something. They will never call you back even when there is an emergency. PLEASE BE WEARY OF TOPAMAX. It has messed me up.
