Tongue biter's recovery

Mon, 04/10/2017 - 01:12
I have focal temporal seizures that quickly progress to generalized tonic clonic seizures since a MVA in 2013. Each time I bite my tongue really bad, like parts of it off on each side and lacerations all over. It gets really swollen, hurts to talk and eat for a week or more afterwards. Just wondering what people use to help sooth their tongue and help it heal? Food of any kind is tough for the first couple days and water is the only thing I can really drink. What types of things do you try to eat and drink after having seizures? I've had some pretty good results with cannabis oil and also coconut oil but that about it. My tongue is covered with scars but eventually it does heal. I joke that they should do research on tongue tissue like they do stem cells because even the pieces that I bite off grow back at least for the most part. Anyway what do you do to help your tongue feel better? Thanks
