Is TLE making me feel tired and dizzy?

Wed, 02/04/2015 - 00:12

First of all, I'm 20 years old. I was diagnosed with TLE 3 months ago, I have myoclonic jerks and simple partial seizures. I'm currently on Depakote. Before i started taking meds I had these weird seizures that made me feel very dizzy, weak and sleepy and where I'd usually feel an intense urge to cry for no reason. It has gotten a little bit better but i still have days where I feel so tired just to go out and all i want to do is sleep. Also I have weird palpitations sometimes. I was misdiagnosed with Neurocardiogenic Syncope(NCS) and bradyarrythmia before my EEG. My doctor says none of these things are related to epilepsy (the weakness, sleepiness and bradyarrythmia). I wanted to change meds but she says it's not safe because i just switched from Trileptal so i guess i have to stay on Depakote for a while.

It frustrates me that she says that all these weird symptoms are not physically related to TLE, that I must be depressed or just overdoing it. I'm losing my hopes to get better cuz if it's not related to epilepsy nor NCS then I don't know what it is. All i want to do is have the energy and health I used to have but was somehow, suddenly taken away from me.

If not why ask your doctor to change your meds with epilepsy????
