Tips to help lower seizures

Wed, 08/19/2015 - 21:25

I saw a few chats and most have the same reasons for their seizures, like my Focal and rare Grand Mal-mine are triggered directly from high stress and low food intake.I am  on Dilantin, only one i can take..pill intolerant. I went on a low Carb. diet and high protein diet and lost 35lbs, exersize is a key factor in keeping seiz away, also lowers stress. I also do alot of meditation on line, BIG help, it really is amazing, control the mind, exercise the mind. I go to Mayo, as exceptional as they are, I have found ways to stop them on my own. if i didnt have stress...grandkids for instance, i bet id be free. Good diet, exercise and meditation.  Too much of any food or caffene, are triggers. if you have a run-of-the-mill Neuro Doc, go to Mayo! no one knows more...oh, and highly limit the computer and phone!!! big factores, you will see

 trigger for one person may

Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 2015-08-21 - 10:30
trigger for one person may not be for another. Like lack of sleep. for some is does trigger seizures. But all my life I have not been able to sleep more then 6 hours a night. Stress can be managed in different ways. Just like they have come up with different diets to help those people that medications haven't been able to help. Modified Adkins diet and ketogenic diets help people. Anything that can be done to calm down the central nervous system will help.I do hope you stay with your plan and it does help you more Joe
