So confused

Fri, 07/03/2015 - 20:15

There is a lot going on for me right now.  I recently had a seizure after 2.5 years seizure free.  I take Keppra 1500mgs twice daily.  After an abnormal EEG, my neurologist wanted to raise that to 1500 in the morning and 2000 at night.  Just this small increase was too much for me.  I became moody, irritable, it was awful.  I stuck with the new dosage for a month until my follow-up appointment.  When I discussed all the side effects with my doctor, we decided to go back to the original dose, add a B complex vitamin, and Zoloft (if I wanted to).  So, I waited a while on the Zoloft, but I have now started it.  Before I started the Zoloft, I woke up startled in the middle of the night, and the next day, I could not stay awake.  I called my neurologist to report the seizure.  It's been almost two weeks with no word from him.  I'm still tired, my legs are swelling, I fall to the right, I can't carry on conversation, I'm just not me at all.  The problem is that I can't tell if I'm having more seizures, it's a side effect of Zoloft, or it's a side effect of raising and lowering Keppra so quickly.  Any ideas about how to sort this out?

This sounds serious, I would not continue to wait for his call, Id go to the ER, they can't refuse you. I've been waiting for another doctor's call for over a month.
