Hello all.

I'm just going to dive right in. I have these "Seizure like episodes" where i can feel one coming on through my legs. Some how i get this feeling through out my legs and i know one is about to happen. I've so far had an eeg and a mri ct and all normal. Sometimes i can have any where from 1 to almost 30 a day.  When i feel the sensation in the leg , usually within 5 seconds my toes curl down and my feet are cramping up my fists clench and my facial muscles as well are very impaired, and if i try to talk i will slur my speech .This is really starting too scare me as i have had them for 12 years and no test can find the problem. So i'm just going out on a long shot too see if anyone here has had similar attacks.

They might be seizures. If

They might be seizures. If you have had these for years then you need to see a neurologist that specializes in epilepsy. All it takes to diagnose eplepsy is 2 seizures. As for tests A short EEG might come back as normal. The same with your MRI. Ct scans won't show everything in the brain. They can all come back normal but that said it does not mean you can't have epilepsy or a seizure disorder.I had 20-25 EEG's all come back normal. I also had a neuro-angeogram (MRI of the 1960's) come back normal I was in the hospital going thru testing to varify the diagnosis. The last test was another EEG. I fell asleep in that EEG and in it they found abnormalities (seizure activity). By knowing where that activity came from the neurologists looked closed at the neuro-angeogram (MRI of the 1960's) and looked closer in the area and they saw scar tissue which came from a hemmorgae to the brain. That hemmorage was caused by a blow to the head. SO eeg's might come back normal but a EEG in which you fall asleep may show something that they didn't see before. They also have monitering units where a person can go for a period of time and be watched and the EEG will be longer like DAYS. in those units if you have a seizure like you said you have they will be able to see it and note the EEG. The neurologist can then make a diagnosis from that information. They may also prescribe medications to help stop the seizures. Which should have been looked at before. The longer a person goes without assistance the worse the seizures can get and a person may have more and stronger seizures. I do hope this helps and yu get the assistance you needJoe
