Is this simple partial seizure?

Sun, 05/25/2014 - 12:40

Hello everyone, I'm 24 years old and I just wanted to talk about what I've been expiriencing since last year. It all began in summer 2013. I was driving and suddently I got this weird deja vu feeling that I never expirienced before. It was really, really intense and got a pain in my gut and a sensation like If I had butterflies in my stomach, followed by nausea and coughing. When I have this episodes they last a few seconds or a little bit longer. I don't lose consciousness but I have to take it easy for a while 'cause I get tired and sometimes I feel kinda dizzy. I had those episodes maybe a few times a day (or less) for a couple of months until they went away but their own. So I never went to the doctor or told no one about what I was experiencing. But a few weeks ago It all came back. Same episodes but more intense and more frecuently. I read in the internet about simple partial seizures, and although I haven't gone to the doctor's office to get check (I'm a little scared to find out what I have) I really believe that I have simple partial seizures. Does someone here have simple partial seizures that can tell me a little more about it? What can cause this? How did you got diagnosed? What medications are you using? Is there any complications? etc. I will appreciate all the information you can give me.

Hi  Mady What you posted could be simple partial seizures. However your dejavou is another which is called an aura which is also a seizure in itself. AUras can be warning to people with epilepsy. Those aruas can be warnings that teh person may have a bigger seizure like a tonic-clonic (grand mal). If you discuss thiis with your doctor he might send you to a specialist. If you do tell the specialist of these issues and try and be as speciffic as possiable. I'm a little scared to find out what I have   How did you got diagnosed?  Many htings can cause a person to have epilepsy. If there is a area in your brain that grew different or abnormally it can cause a person to become epileptic. My epilepsy was caused by scared brain tissue. What caused the scared tissue was a hemmorage to the brain. What cause the hemmorage to the brain was a blow to the head which might have knocked me out.  If a person has been in an car accident and hit their head hard then that too can cause a hemmorage to the brain. If a person gets really sick it can and has caused someone to get epilepsy. Oh and sometimes there is no reason. Anybody at any age can get epilepsy. What medications are you using?   Is there any complications

Medications are being created

Medications are being created all the time. There are many being used and I have used many. They all work. But a medication that works for one person may not for the next. The same with dosages of the medications. Each persons body is different which is why that can be stated. Think of it this way Can you drink the same amount of alcohol as your friends and still not get a high??? What about food? Can you eat anything without getting an upset stomach? Can you eat as much as your friend? When I was younger I could set down and eat non stop for about an hour. We used to go to a restaruant which served 16oz steaks. I could go to the salad bar 3 times then eat my steak and potatoe My friends ate 1/2 of their steaks. I would spear their steaks and finish them. SO they ate 1/2 a steak and a baked potatoe. I ate the equalivent of 2 steaks my poattoe and 3 different salads. The medications today to treat different kinds of seizures, They are tested and approved for sale and use. But that is not all the testing done. It is the start of further teasting. They get tested to find out the other kinds of seizures they can control. Following that they are tested to see if they can be used with other medications to ocntrol a persons seizures better. I know a lot about this because I have been in drug studies. I am in those because I want newer medication that have fewer side effects then the ones I took when I was your age. Side effects do happen and each medication has a list of those side effects. That includes side effects for your over the counter medications . Oh and also incluces anything else you might buy or use like your make up..   Have you ever read the side effects on the nose spray you use.. That would be the itty bitty writting on the bottle. The area with writting so small you can't read it. You are on the site that you can gain knowledge on. You can start by reading epilepsy 101 then check out other things that can cause a person with epilepsy to have a seizure. There are triggers some of use have to watch out for. Mine is getting to hot to fast. Another one for most people with epilepsy is STRESS. I hope I answered your questions but I am no doctor If yo udo see your doctor be all mweans tell him everything and check with a specialist Joe
