Shocking, isn't it?

I was diagnosed with epilepsy a month ago. Still don't know what kind or what the cause is. I keep getting shocks in my heels, my ankles, my calves, my thighs, and my groin (not in a good way). Each time I get a shock I feel it in my head right behind my eyes and If the shock is strong enough I get an upset stomach and I get tired!!! Oh, and one day last week I though I must have dropped my cell phone on the floor by me feet cause the floor by my left foot was vibrating on and off just like a cell phone on vibrate does. Then I realized that it was acutally my heal vibrating like that. This went on for about three hours. Does anyone else have anything like anything that I've described above? If you do, is it part of epilepsy? On a good note, I've been taking topamax for a week and the shocks and other seizures (i didn't detail those here cause I understand those) are seeming to go away :)

Hi there, I'm not sure if this is the same thing you experienced but I was recently diagnosed with partial complex seizures and was put on topamax at first. I noticed that my hands feet and face were tingling and buzzing on and off all the time. It drove me crazy. I was only on 25 mg topaamax 2x day. I called my dr. and he said to take it only once a day. The tingling is a major side effct of the medicine. The buzzing never stopped and then I had a seizure on the lower dosage. He changed my meds to keppra 500 mg 2x day and I feel much better. All the tingling and buzzing has stopped. I have not had a seizure in 5 weeks. I hope this helps.

I am on Topamax as well and one of the side effects is tingling, especially in your hands and feet, but I have also had it happen in my face and head. It has gotten bad enough sometimes that it feels like there is a vibration, sort of like a cell phone on vibrate, much like what you are describing, and sometimes it lasts awhile, as much as an hour or so. My doctor suggested to cut down on this to try a B complex vitamin supplement. This seems to help most of the time.
