seizures triggered by color

Tue, 09/05/2006 - 09:45
Hi, I get a lot of seizures that are triggered by colors or different things that have to do with something I see, but it isn't always the same thing every time. Computers, seem to trigger them, also, when I do crafts, (particularly beadwork). I also get them sometimes just by looking at something but it wouldn't trigger it everytime. It's just something about that particular thing at the moment that triggers it. I thought that maybe certain lenses would help stop some of them. I noticed that it seems to bother me less doing those things more when it's a little darker then when it's too bright. Even walking in the winter and snow sometimes triggers them. Does anyone else go through this same thing? If so, do you know with certain types of seizures if certain lenses in your glasses would help?

Hey there! I can be triggered into have SPS by patterns in particular. Things like checked shirts in certain colour combinations, or patterns of floor tiles. Sometimes if I stare at very bright colours in large areas for too long it can trigger too. Usually all of this results in the same symptoms - 'Alice through the rabbit hole' as I call it, where everything seems suddenly bigger then smaller, as if it is contracting, and the floor rushes upwards. I don't know about your question because I don't wear glasses, but I thought you'd like to know you're not alone. xoxo

Hi thanks for your reply. I get some also that have to do with certain patterns, but it doesn't do it all the time or to the same thing each time. It' nice to talk to people who can relate with you and understand where you are coming from. Thanks,
