Seizures RUIN my life!!!!!

Mon, 09/19/2016 - 21:07
I HATE having seizures! I had a grand mahl when I was 5 then it went away. They came back when I was 10. I had another grand mahl(or 2) but in the end they turned into partial complex seizures. I had brain surgery when I was around 12 or 13. It helped a little. I'm 22 now and thanks to the HORRIBLE seizures I am stuck living at my mom's house. I HATE that I can NEVER get my drivers license:-( I have a seizure once or twice a week (or more. It's always different). I'm always looking for a friend who also has seizures and knows how I feel/what I go through!

I can't get public

I can't get public transportation or anything yet because I am stuck living with my mom. I can't get a job/leave her either. I also have aspergers.

Your aspergers makes it even

Your aspergers makes it even more difficult to cope with the epilepsy. The usual fears are magnified and you need something to get your mind away. Look into your state's programs to help you find something to do. My step-daughter has severe cerebal palsy as well and the "job" she has helped her. She has something to look forward to. We all need to occupy ourselves. I take buses to my bro's business to help just for this. Of course I am still disabled- but this allows me to get a free bus pass. If your state has public transport you would be able to get this too. Your reaching out to others to shareyourself is fantastic! Your anger a sure sign of the determination you have to overcomeyour condition. Please keep it up!

I was just in an AMAZING program where they let me go teach a mini art class to kids with down syndrome. They LOVED me!! I had to leave because I turned 22:-( we are looking for a new one.
