Seizure Repsonse/Alert Dogs

Fri, 08/08/2014 - 00:13

Well after going almost 20 years without seizures (last one was around age 15 now 35). I have started having them again. Only they have come back in a different form. I used to have just petimal seizures, but now i'm having the Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizures. My doctor has put me on 2 different medication and recently recommended i get a Seizure Response Dog for while i'm living alone. Does anyone in the Illinois area or close by know of some good angencies to get assistant from or what the process is like. I'm having a hard time getting information on it.

Sincerely,

Tanya Robertson

Tanya You might call the 24/7 hot lime since they can heck thing out.  They may have agencies already in your area. When I was a lot younger I had a dog long before they had these and she would steer me to a safer place.

Hi Tanya,Sorry to hear about your situation. This link is to Canine Partners for Life in Pennsylvania.http://k94life.org/seizure-alert/They aren't in the Illinois area, but get in touch with them.  They might know someone you can get in touch with in your area or have some options for you.It can't hurt to ask.  They're a wonderful agency and should be able to get back to you.
