seizure helmet

Does anyone out there wear a seizure helmet? I have one that I was prescribed by my doctor, but I find that since I have been wearing it I feel some of the ptsd from the past trigger more often. I sometimes wonder if it's worth it. I also recently had lyrica added to my meds also, and am not sure if that's contributing to those feelings or if it's more the helmet issue. Although the lyrica seems to help stop the drop seizures, I sometimes would rather have the seizures than go through the emotional pain from the past. I haven't noticed it surfacing like it does until the time I added lyrica and wore the helmet. I'm not sure what's contributing to it or if it's a combination of both. Has anyone else noticed changes with Lyrica as far as emotional changes?

Hey, I see you wear a helmet to prevent injuries from your drop seizures. That's good that you've got them under control, but sucks its causing other complications. I am doing some research on the problems with the helmets oftentimes worn by those with drop seizures. If you would be interested I'd love to hear your opinion about your helmet wearing experiences.

A bit of background on myself. I'm an industrial design (product designer) student at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. I'm redesigning a helmet concept for people with drop seizures. I also have epilepsy, not drop seizures though. Thanks for your time.

Hi,  our 16 year old daughter wears a helmet (part-time) due to seizures.  She has knocked out teeth, stitches on the chin, and staples in the back of the head due to falls.  We have a helmet with a plastic faceguard around the front, but she rarely wears it. She also has moderate retardation and ADHD and just won't tolerate wearing it.  We also have an equestrian helmet that she does wear, but it doesn't protect her from face falls.  We are looking for a helmet with some front protection for the chin and mouth, but not so constricting.

Are you still working on this helmet for drop seizures?  My adult daughters has drop seizures and have had several injuries, bumps, and swelling on her left side.  A helmet-like head phones would be ideal for her and less of a styma.  I am really interested in this concept.
