seizure epilepticus

Mon, 04/25/2016 - 11:58
So my Love has epilepsy, diagnoses about 7 years ago. his patterns, feelings, seizures & auras have change throughout those years. this yea though...the amount of 1 time seizures have disappeared. He is on Vimpat which he seems to like, no side affects like other meds he has tried. except for sleepiness. The time frame in which is has them is still very constant its usually between 2am- 10am. seems to be sleep or rest related. thank god they don't happen during the day while driving etc, and luckily the auras, goosebumps, nausea, sweats etc. give him a n indication a seizure may happen. any way, the point of this post is to discuss this new behavior of Seizure Epilepticus. He no longer has one seizure then gets to recover...his body goes thorough multiple seizures that will not stop unless we got to the ER which then result in a few days stay in the ICU. this has happen twice so far in 2016...but no other seizures in between...just a few days of not feeling well. anyone else experiencing this? any thoughts to share? anything at all would help us to know that someone else has had this happened we are both scared. and are looking into a new doctor, new ways to talk and cope with this instead of just making the poor man take 4 meds at a time to stop such an aggressive situation.
