Seizure cause by electrocution?

Mon, 06/25/2007 - 02:49
Hello my name is ryan. I'll start with explaining what happened to me, I hope I don't offend anyone. I do not have a history of seizures and have never had one before the night of 3-30-07. I took two pills of the drug ecstacy (first and last time trying) at 9:00pm. eariler that night I had pulled out my old strobe light, dusted it off and examined the unit. I noticed there was a small spark coming out of where the power cord was attached/entered the back of the box, but only when the cord was moved around. I thought nothing of it because it was just going to be sitting still on top of the tv. The night was going just fine, everyone was having fun. Around 2:00am is when it happened. I was sitting on the couch with some freinds, with the strobe light in my lap facing the ground....i know...very stupid. I had my shirt off cuz it was hot. I stood up with the strobe light in hand, intending on placing it on the table in front of me, the next thing i remember was waking up on the floor asking "why they turned the music off?". the story my two friends told me was as follows: i stood straight up, shook for a second and then fell to floor between the couch and the coffe table, on top of the strobe light. I began convulsing. my friend quickly picked me up off the ground, while he was trying to stand me up from behind me, he fell back onto the couch and I continuted to convulse on top of him (he had no idea what was happening, he thought at first maybe i was messing arround, trying to wrestle with him). After I stopped shaking, he was able to get control of me and lay me down on the ground wear i started to foam at the mouth. I slowly got better and came to. I've done my research and i've found that electrocution and seizures have alot of the same side effects, but I really don't know what happened to me. the day after I felt really spacie but I feel fine now. I do suffer from some numbness in my left leg. If I suffer from mild mental retardation, I don't know it (who could?) and no one tells me I'm different (again, who would?). Are there any kinda of tests a doctor or hospital can run to see if there is neurological damage? i don't know if this was a heat seizure, a really bad electrocution or a seizure enduced by electrocution. please help me, thank all of you.

Hello Ryan, sorry to hear

Hello Ryan, sorry to hear about your electrical shock. I too received an electric shock 22 years ago. I was plugging in a guitar effects pedal into a 4 gang extension lead. Unfortunately, there was an old guitar string lying on the floor which I failed to see. When I pushed the transformer into the 4 gang socket, the string was forced into the live hole. The string bent upright and meshed into my guitar strings which I was holding at the time. I had a horrific experience. 240 angry volts went through my body for about 8 seconds before I was thrown against the wall. I thought I nearly died. I thought I had got off lightly and was worried more about my amp & guitar. Later on, I went for a picnic with my wife & twin daughters. On the way home whilst driving our nice family car, I blacked out at the wheel. We crashed into a wall and a road sign. I was admitted to hospital but they couldn't find anything wrong. After bying another car, I took a funny turn whilst out shopping. I took a vacency. To cut to the quick, I've been diagnosed with epilepsy. I no longer work and I'm banned from driving. I've been prescribed every drug under the sun but the seizures persist. I have about 25 to 30 per year. They havent officially confirmed that the shock caused the epilepsy but I was perfectly ok before that incident. Get checked out and NEVER touch drugs or dodgy electrical appliances.

Ecstacy physically destroys

Ecstacy physically destroys the tissue of your brain. Stay away from it, and all lethal drugs and authorized scripts, unless you want bad things to happen, like this. It's funny to read how concerned you seem in your post, (after the facts have taken place). Were you not concerned before taking the Ecstacy? You can't find other FUN things to do, then play around with drugs, and bad wiring? Why not go read about electronics, and learn to fix them, if you are semi-curious about them. I can't understand the world today, everyone wants to be "DRUGGED".
