Post Surgery Seizure Frequency Increase + Dizzy Spells

Tue, 12/16/2014 - 17:56

I am searching for a solution for my wife who was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age 18.  Seizure frequency was 1 per year.  In late 2013 she underwent a right frontal lobe resection.  The pathology reported that she had Cortical Dysplasia.  She was seizure free for 8 months after the surgery, but then the wheels came off and she has had 8 seizure in the last 6 months.  Turns out, she had a focal epilepsy & a general epilepsy.

She is also suffering from these debilitating dizzy spells that will last all day.  They typically start shortly after she wakes up, then will go away in the evening.  They are typically preceded by a migraine in the rear of the head & nausea, of course.

She is currently on Lamictal, Vimpat & just started Depakote.

We will try the caffeine free deal, and check thyroid.  Life for her has become miserable since we elected to have the surgery, and the dizzy issue is about to cause her to lose another job.

Anyone with a similar, post surgery issues??
