hey jenlb, I'm also on topamax but I'm not lossing my hair I would ask your doctor to run a blood test also you can go to web md to see it the meds your on would do that I'm a diabetic you can loss your hair on that . so you might wana look in to that you never know something else could be wrong like one of the med could be hurting your liver . I was on a med that I had to have my blood taken lot and my hair was comeing out but the doctor didnt look at my blood. --amy

Hi & welcome jen, Only one med gave me that side effect.. Depakene. For sure, it is due to a side effect of one of your meds, so I'd suggest you change meds. Also, if you are seeing a neurologist (specialist in all brain and spinal conditions) I'd suggest you search out an epileptologist (a neurologist that focuses on the over 40 types of epilepsy). I was never controlled by any over the over 10 neurologists I saw... yet months after seeing an epileptologist, I was completely controlled. Hope that helps ~sol

hi jenn I also lost my hair with topamax but it did work well. currently i am on trileptal and keppra with a clonopin kicker at nite for my myclonic seizures( I also have grand mal) you are way to young to have to go through losing your hair, i know, I lost mine twice! once for chemo on a brain tumor and then two years later on topomax. no way, sorry there are other solutions. Keep bugging your neurologist until YOU find something YOU can live with. Let's face it, you have a long lfe ahead of you, make it it as good as you can.
