Piloerection

Thu, 11/30/2006 - 08:56
so I woke up this morning and I'm standing there washing last night's dishes and all of a sudden I get these goosebumps only on the left side of my scalp. I wasn't cold/shivering etc, and I didn't get them anywhere else on my body, just the left side of my scalp. then, I sit down after cooking breakfast a few minutes later, and get this...I hear what sounds like a butterfly flapping its wings very close to if not IN my head. so I start swatting at it, thinking it was an actual bug. I comb my hair out (still thinking there was a butterfly in there somewhere) and finally realize the noise was inside my head. anyone ever hear loud noise INSIDE their head? or get goosebumps on one side of their head/body?

I get piloerection on one side of my head, and also other slightly painful sensations on one side. I used to have them frequently, but now so much anymore. Once I had it for most of the day for two weeks. They tend now to start on one side and spread to my whole head more often now, and not last as long. I don't hear anything inside my head, but I occasionally get a sensation of vibration inside my head. It feels similar to how your mouth feels when you make a buzzing bee sound.

thanks for the reply missemmy, I SWEAR there was something crawling around in my ear but obviously a butterfly could't have fit in there! LOL
