Any lead on paediatric epilepsy which the seizures are in early sleep and waking up hour. The seizure presents itself in the form of strange expression on face, swelling of nostrils and blinking of right eye. Duration is from ten to twenty seconds. It happens multiple times. MRI report is normal and spikes observed from fronto-temporal lobe in the EEG. Currently on Oxcarbamezapin, Clobazam and Lemotrigin. Medicines brought relief for some time but the seizures reactivated on an attempt to taper Clobazam. Now even on rebuilding Clobazam, it's not helping. Cause seems to be ideopathic. The child is five years old. Can Ayurveda help? Any good reference of Ayurveda doctor specialising in treating pediatric epilepsy? Kindly help

alternative medications such as Ayurveda can help some but may not stop the seizures. Bringing the mind and body under control eases the body and mind and can help. But it may not stop the electrical impulses causing the seizures to start. The spikes and waves are electrical impulses that can start seizures. They are irregular or abnormal output coming from your brain. If the impulse hit wrong it can start a seizure. That impulse causes a chain reaction which is the seizure itself. Medicines brought relief for some time but the seizures reactivated on an attempt to taper Clobazam. As the body grows and changes the dosages may need to be increased or decreased. If the neurologist is a specialist in epilepsy fine they can bring the therapeutic levels back up and stop the seizures again. Or they can change medication to newer ones which might control the seizures better. Most neurologist want to get seizures controlled with one medication if possible. As Amy Jo posted please switch to neurologist who specializes in epilepsy. Once there you can ask him/her is they know a doctor who uses or knows or uses Ayurveda. My PCP does since his family came from India. Yes there are doctors here that do know and do have patients use mind and body to calm down their patients. Yoga is one of the ways a person clams down the central nervous system...
