I've had these jerks all of my life and now they are comming sometimes 16 times a day. I also have times when I go into my own little world. What will the EEG show???? That I'm crazy!!!! Nobody understands how I feel. Gotta Go!!! Thanks in Advance.

Mary, You have come to the right place. This web site has alot of answers and it also has ALOT of support. If you havent already come into the chat room, please remember this though.....when you come into chat....Just join in and say hi, Sometimes we are joking around in there to make others laugh because laughter is the best medicine out there !!! There is a great group of people here that know what you are going through. As far as going crazy.....NO you are not. I think that is the most comman feeling everyone here has had at one time or another. Hve a look around on the web site and read some blogs and go to the community forum. There is always great questions asked and almost always answered!!! As far as the EEG......It doesnt hurt. I am not sure what EEG you are having BUT rest assured none of them "hurt" you.I myself have had a sleep deprived EEG,a 24 hr EEG and went in for a 5 day VEEG which is a video EEG. They hook up wires to your scalp and then thos wires are hooked up to a computer......It shows Dr where in the brain your seizures come from. Just dont get frustrated after the EEG if you hear it is normal. That can happen. Just remember you ARE NOT alone in this !!!!! Praying for you and please keep us posted as how everything goes !!!! Karen

Thanks for your advise. I'm reading about some people who have had 3 sz's in 4 years and are on heavy duty meds. Why is it so important to take such strong meds with such little sz activity? Do all sz's get out of hand at some point? Do they always get worse? I have jerks in my upper body, it sounds weird but this is a way to describe it. It's like a dog that begins to shake when he's wet he starts at the head with the ears and shakes down the spine to the tail. Well my body shakes starting at my head and only goes through to the middle of my spine. My arms are really can move at times but my head always shakes. I hope I don't sound too strange. I'm doing alot of reading this weekend my husband and son have gone hunting all weekend. Maybe I'll have some good questions to ask my Dr. and educate myself on a few things. I'm trying to explain to people at work and it's hard!!!

Ah! Anothers hunters widow. :P That's what my mother calls it when my father and brother and brother in law go off hunting for the weekends. Personally I hate venison, but I'm learning some interesting recipes that take the gamey taste out of it, you don't have any good recipes by any chance? For venison? ok, got a bit distracted there. Your description of your seizures don't sound weird at all. I've been haunting this place for the last year, since I was diagnosed, it has shown me that seizures are incredibly diverse. Some people have them every day, but there so small that they barely need meds, others have such bad tonic-clonic seizures that even one a year is too many. I've found where doctors are concerned writing down everything you can remember about your seizures, keeping track of when they happen and any stressors that might have brought them on, all of this helps them treat you. The brain controls everything, so it makes sense when our wiring starts sparking that anything can happen. I don't know if all seizures get worse. I know mine have, and I've been on medication for the past year. My doctor and I don't know why yet, but we're working together to calm them down. One of these days maybe. I know other people though who have had seizures for years, usually petit mals, and they never get any worse than zoning out for a few seconds at a time. Other people get a slew of seizures and then they stop and never return. Then there's the kindling issue. Such lovely brains we have, but then again someone has to keep the neurologists busy :D Welcome to the forum.
