Mon, 09/07/2015 - 21:03

I have taken so many meds since 8 plus two operations. the vns and brain sugery. my sezuires was uncontrolable. then finally I get on onfi and my sezuires changed 100% around from bad to holy none. but onfi keeps me exustasted. I can't holy do much at all. my energy level is so low you can't image. i thought finally my life had changed. I am glad how good the sezuires are, but I need energy also. and the promblem is they are no other meds execpt onfi that do me good exept onfi. It like a catch 22. low enery or sezuires which is the best to live with.

Catch 22 hikeYou said you

Catch 22 hikeYou said you have taken a lot of medications. Fine. I too have taken many different meds. I also have worked with my neurologist and always asked him questions. The VNS will not work for me. Surgery will not help since the scar tissue is in more than 1 lobe. So medications will be the only way to get things controlled.Have you discussed your loss of energy with your neurologist? The reason I ask is that you might be on a dosage that is too high and lowering it might give you more energy. I know I take the highest dosages any of my neurologists have given anybody. I was taking enough phenobarbital in one day to put the average man to sleep for 24 hours. Now add Dilantin and tegratol to that and I had a cocktail designed to stop my seizures but it didn't leave me with much of anything. Now I did have good times and did run around with my friends but while going from one area to the next I was asleep in the car.SO discuss this issue with him and ask about other medications there are and believe me there are many. You might also ask about reducing the meds and coupling it with another which has fewer side effects.I hope this helpsJoe
