long story short, ive an arachnoid cyst, causing me to have seizures which labels me as having epilepsy. im having surgery in sept. but my question is after having surgery, 6 months later i can drive so long as i haven't had a seizure, and i stay on pills for 2 years as precaution. upon coming off the pills, will i always be labeled as having epilepsy? or does that title go away?? its severely affecting my career path, so i'd really like to know this :(

Once an epileptic always an epileptic. That is what most agencies will look at. People who have outgrown it still have it in their files. My cousin grew out of it and it is still on her files many years after she went seizure free. The files can be brought up and loked at in many occupations that require people with epilepsy to not work in those fields. As mereloaded posted lawenforcement, transit drivers and law enforcement are a few.  its severely affecting my career path   I hope this helps and you do get seizure free.. Joe
