ok now what? 1 abnormal eeg 1 normal aeeg- HELP!

Thu, 05/03/2007 - 08:34
Help, I need advice. I had 1 abnormal eeg and was put on trileptal, told I have tle. Unfortunately, my family had a hard time with that so I went to boston for another opinion and a 4 day aeeg. Boston says everything came back normal- I don't have E. I asked why I had an abnormal eeg and he said maybe they over-read it and he can't say why as he didn't see me at the time. So what now? I am being weaned off my meds and told to go for a sleep study and a psychiatrist. He also said I have too many symptoms. I did have this weird head tingly thing I get while on the aeeg and it showed nothing and one confused moment. I purposely missed a few doses while on it (not recomended by the dr) and had a huge tremor which I get now when I forget a few doses. That showed up- psychomotor something but no seizure activity with it. So my mom is as happy as a lark and told me to just knock it off. My husband is freaked out and in shock and still doesn't want me driving our kids anymore. This new news is causing me more agony than the first diagnosis. And of course my mom thinks it's great because she wants me to drive again to visit, help do her errands etc. Part of what scares me is I seem to do some things on autopilot. I throw things out or speak and don't even know I just said something. I have also had two huge body snaps this past year and if it's not E then what is that? It threw me from my seat. Can it be caused by my meds? I have been really doing the talking thing a lot more since the meds started so I don't know what to think. I would love some advice and thanks for listening to me freak out everyone. Who would have thought I would be so upset to be told that I don't have E? Also, my symptoms include having spells when I can't read, type or dial a phone right, hear right- all I hear is noise not words, can't figure out how to use the stove! -use wrong dials, confusion, and doing things I don't know about. What sent me in the first place was one episode of not being able to move or speak while driving. Please help. Wendy
