Odd Headaches?

Thu, 02/26/2015 - 22:21

Hello,

I have been diagnosed with epilepsy since I was 16. I had "issues" with lights when I was much younger, but no seizures. I do have a family history of epilepsy. About four years ago I had no medical, so I was taking one pill a day of carbatrol xr (versus 4) to stretch them; long story short I had a seizure in a store and although it was lousy I ended up getting medical, however, not for long. (These seizures and various triggers + anxiety = hard to find employment in rural area. Ugh.)

So right now I have been on my meds. again for a while (since June 2014). The meds. are back in my system fine, but in the past few weeks I've been getting these odd headaches and I get this tired feeling as if I had a seizure, but I'm certain I did not. I do have times where I swallow almost uncontrollably. Has anyone had this happen? I also notice I tend to be more prone to a seizure, too. I can't tolerate certain lights / must eat well / may need to nap or sleep better. I can't drive as I haven't gone 2 years without a grand mal and I am honestly frighted to drive as I have so many little things that set it off.

I read online about complex-partial but it's so hard to tell lately as this fog thing keeps making me too tired and cranky to pay attention.

I have to see a new doctor soon, hopefully before my medical assistance is "gone" as it is limited (however greatly appreciated). I'm nervous as I haven't been to one in some time and I know it is important to maintain but costly.

Anyway, sorry for the story. Just want to know if this headache thing is something else or does this mean I may be developing other seizures or issues?  I know medical tests will help, but it's always nice to go ahead with a warning for comfort!  Google just tells me I have brain cancer and well, I doubt that's the case!

Thank you.
