Nocturnal siezures/Migraines/Medication

Fri, 03/09/2007 - 17:01
Hello, I suffer from TLE(left) and have some questions for you all regarding symptoms and meds.I was taking 1500mg. of Keppra for awhile but my insurance expired but I have since regained insurance and have yet to start meds again. I seem to have a steady pattern that leads up to a seizure(most of the time). The pattern starts with a day of feeling disconnected but functional. The very next day or so I feel O.K. but I can't seem to fit words together in normal conversation and I feel fatigued.Soon after this(another day or two)I start having seizures in my sleep.I never remember the seizures but ex's have given me vivid accounts of them, which is why most of them are ex's.These episodes are always followed by at least a day of horrible migraines. This cycle repeats itself at least once a month. So it all comes down to this:Taking the Keppra will debilitate me for at least 6 weeks until I adjust to it.Any advice on how to lessen the severity of the negative effects of Keppra. Does anyone have similar symptoms? Any advice at all? Thank you all for being here at this site...you have no idea how much I have benefited from reading your forums. P.S. Anybody here live in Eastern Washington?Just moved here so I was curious. Thanks again.

What happens to you on Keppra? I didn't have any side effects besides being sleepy for a few days.

Fits of rage, sleepiness, increase in seizures(but less severe) for the first few weeks.Keppra worked great after the initial few weeks.I was almost seizure free for several months but it seemed to stop working after 5 or 6 months.Maybe it's time to try something else.
