Nighttime Jerking

Sun, 02/22/2015 - 19:56

I have TLE and had a series of seizure clusters yesterday. I have simple partial, but have had complex partial in the past - before medication. I napped in the afternoon to try to break up the clusters, but to no avail! When ended up happening: I couldn't sleep until 2 am! Then, whenever I would fall asleep my left side (upper torso) would start jerking and wake me up!! It got to the point where it was happening even as I was drifting off. I finally fell asleep in front of the television, after another dose of ativan had time to work. I've jerk once today, while awake, but it was very mild. Is this another type of simple partial, or complex partial? Has anyone had something like this happen to them?

Thanks

Most of my seizurs can be

Most of my seizurs can be considered simple partial. I have a few focal seizures where I might get a twitch in my right hand. After I get my first seizure I take my lorazepan and it stops the clusters. If this were my issue I would be calling Doc (my neurologist) and discussing it with him. If his assistant answers the phone which generally happens I give the information to her and she either gives me an answer or Doc calls me later. The medications you posted is lorazepam which is used for clusters or to stop someone from going into status epilepticus. Which is why I say contact your neurologist. You may need your dosages increased some because your levels may be low enough to cause break thru seizures. I hope this helps Joe
