New Sensations

Fri, 03/17/2006 - 10:31
Hi Everybody, I am new to the site, need someone who understands. Have had complex partial/generalized seizures for 6 years now and have recently had some strange new sensations. I have reduced my meds to only prevent generalized as we are trying to concieve our third child. So for 4 days now I have felt disconnected and "drunk", similar to how it feels when you start a new med and adjust. I have had constant "auras" during the day, esp late afternoon but it mostly feels like I am drunk. My husband thinks if I go into a generalized seizure, maybe it would put a halt to the activity (a trend with me) has anyone tried to induce a seizure to stop constant auras? I'm blabbing, I know. Also, has anyone tried colored lenses (glasses or contacts) for light filtering for photosensitive seizures? I have an appointment next week with an opthamologist to try it. Having a healthy baby is more important to me than being seizure free right now so I am trying to come up with alternatives. Any advice or understanding would be great! Thanks! Steph

I know this is a really late reply and most likely you've already found your answers. But inducing a seizure on your own sounds a bit risky. Auras by themselves are a form of seizure. I was just wondering if you'd found some relief from this state by now?
