Neuronal or Synaptic Misfirings?

Wed, 01/14/2015 - 14:54

Hello to everyone. I've been away from this site for some time. Now I have a question I can't seem to get an answer to. I spoke to my doctor and she is not sure about a clear and precise answer. Here is how this all fits together. Most human brains, even with epilepsy, have about eighty six billion to seventeen point two trillion neuronal synaptic functions per second. How many is totally dependant upon what the body is doing at the time. The brain also has about one hundred trillion to twenty quadrillion synaptic functions per second, depending upon the bodys activity. Are our seizures only neuronal synaptic misfirings, or synaptic misfirings or are our seizures a mixture of neuronal and synaptic misfirings. I know this is a rather complicated question and I would not ask in this forum, but there is a vast amount of accumulated knowledge here. As far as the info on the numbers for neuronal and synaptic function that came from, " Neuowritetowest.org " and I was looking there for answers to my own seizure disorder. Thanks for reading my post and any info you wish to share would be a big help.
