Need Advice: Can I take up this new job ?

Sun, 12/20/2015 - 20:21

Hi all,

I was diagnosed of JME at the age of 14.  I am 41 now, have stubbornly refused to be on medication and i attempt to manage my sleep instead, avoiding night activities or rising before sunrise.  For nearly 30 years, have had only about 20 TCs , all related to sleep deprivation.

I have been on a desk bound job for the past 17 years, I hate this job but it is safe for my health condition. I can call in sick or report for duty late on some days without needing to explain.

I am very interested to move to a new exciting job at an 3rd party auditing firm, which may require frequent weekly travelling,  early morning / overnight flights .

Will taking JME medications such as Epilim Chrono,  prevent seizures on those days when I have early morning or sleep depriving activities? Can the medication help me to go without seizures and have a successful new career ?

I need advise from people with similar conditions and whether you are seizure free while you are involved in activities which usually trigger your seizure?
