The National Epilepsey Foundation, what a blessing!

Sun, 01/21/2007 - 07:08
The National Epilepsy Foundation is a resource for us all to use, and a good one at that. (great one wouldn't be over stating it either) I once wrote them an e-mail asking if I would be forced to retire on a disability pension from my job (life) as a Police Sergeant. They sent me tons of information and even offered me legal advise and the name and address of an attorney that would represent me. That wasn't the end of it either, much to my suprise they followed up with me and took a personal interest in my case. There had already been moves under way at my job to force me to retire. I was devestated at the thought of this happening to me. Once my job received the information from them, their whole tune changed. I went from being ignored by the job and not having my phone calls returned or questions not answered to having everything answered ASAP. ( it wasn't by the Police Department themselves, but the City H.R. people and legal department) I honestly believe if it hadn't been for the National Epilepsey Foundation and a GREAT Boss ( who has family members with "E") I wouldn't have gotten my job back and lost a very important part of my life to "E". I know many people do not have resources to give donations, but if you can, this is one organization that deserves our support. The information they provide and the work they do on behalf of us people with "E" is amazing. Good luck to you all, stay positive and fight the fight. God willing this "E" thing will be cured in a few years and we can all have a big party! No I am not affilated with the National Epilepsey Foundation in anyway, just greatful they exist!
