Myoclonus? What the ?@&%$ is going on here???

Wed, 01/17/2007 - 09:08
Started a week ago with an episode (having been diagnosed w/ seizures yet) that featured twitching and head movements (skaking head no). This week I've had three days in a row. The first I went to the ER cause I was jerking for two hours. Punching repeatedly the side of the couch, head jerking, mouth and eyes...blah blah blah. Given valium, then ativan. Next day...started again. Took ativan, stopped for a bit. Started again a few hours later. Took another ativan even though it hadn't been eight hours yet. Could walk, although it was tough. Any activity seems to make them worse. Any thoughts?

Hi, While myoclonic epilesy doesn't get as much billing as the other types, it is, quiet valid. There a number of AEDs which help, but for me depakote works best. I find flashing lights to be a trigger.
