Memory - where is it

Thu, 09/06/2007 - 17:57
Tell me, how bad is your mem loss. I have to say everytime after a episode I can definately feel that my memory is getting worse. This is long term memory. It is really worring as it starts to screw up my job. I need to spend my evenings keeping up to date with everything but some things are just gone. I hope I am the only one where it is so bad as I hate it. It has cost me my job once already.

Hah! I didn't have to look at your profile to see that you were new around here, welcome to the world of Epilepsy. Start carrying around a note pad and pen to write down anything you need to remember.

Johan, don't feel so bad about the memory thing. I have had to deal with it also. After my first seizure I was having a hard time finding the right words to say and even had to think hard about what year it was! And this was the next day. I had to see a neurologist then and he thought I was faking it. I said I can't think of what I want to say. I know what year it is but I can't think of the numbers. It didn't help when my friend said that I was really acting blonde that day. People just don't get it. Even the doctors a lot of times.
