Memory Loss - Simple Partial

Thu, 03/10/2016 - 13:41
At 4 years old I was diagnosed with Grand Mal seizures and began taking Tegretol. At 6 years old my seizures stopped and I stopped taking medication. Between 6 and 23 I was 100% seizure free. I'm now 26 and for the past 2.5 years I've been having Simple Partial seizures. I've tried different prescription medications, but nothing has worked well enough for it to be worth the significant side effects. I'm able to drive, live a normal life, have a boyfriend of 5 years and have a full time corporate job. My biggest concern is memory loss. I can't remember huge life events. I don't remember entire vacations or important memories. I can't remember if I've already told someone a story and always have to ask them "Have I told you this before?" I want to get married and have children, but I'm saddened by the thought of not remembering such important life events. Does anyone have advice? Has anyone experienced this? Help :(
